On 1 May 2003 ebaY was down from 01:00 PT to 03:00 PT for maintenance. At 3:37:21 PT users continued to report the inability to remove items from My ebaY pages. These included sold items, along with item not won. In most cases, users would get a blank page and the item would still not be removed. At 5:14:56 PT Windows XP users reported the ebaY toolbar was causing security problems on multiple user computers. The toolbar would remain logged in on a users account, even if the user logged out of ebaY. At 14:20:05 PT buyers reported that they could not delete items form the My ebaY closed auction list. At 19:39:36 PT sellers reported problems using Turbo Lister.

On 2 May 2003 at 8:34:26 PT, users of the ebaY toolbar could not get it to work after updating to the new version. It caused a sign in loop. Removing and reloading did not solve the problem. At 9:51:33 PT sellers reported that all their auctions had disappeared form their Me page and from My ebaY. At 09:52:33 PT cgi 6 was down, preventing any access to sellers lists. At 09:54:33 PT, users reported problems with signing in, and no access to sellers list continued. The My ebaY watch page was coming up blank, preventing buyers from bidding on items. At 10:00:50 PT users reported sellers and bidders lists were gone. At 10:14:10 PT users reported that the site reloads had slowed down to a crawl. At 10:19:46 PT buyers continued to report that their Item's I'm Watching pages were blank, preventing their bidding on items. At 10:21:18 PT ebaY posted that 'View Seller's Other Items" was down from 09:44 to 10:08 PT. Users reported the problem fixed at 10:22:05 PT. At 15:37:37 PT sellers reported that auctions ended 2 hours previous had still not generated an end of auction notice.

On 3 May 2003 at 11:44:27 PT users reported getting ups 'How are we doing' pop up windows that interfered with their ability to view items and bid on them. At 14:39:43 established users were being denied the ability to log in, receiving messages that their login info was not correct, even though it was. At 15:12:32 PT a user reported that the feedback system had a glitch as they were able to leave feedback twice on one item. They also reported that a Buy It Now on one item generated a BIN on a second unrelated item they had not purchased. At 18:45:13 PT and 19:51:34 PT more users reported problems with pop-ups interfering with their site use.

On 4 May 2003 the site was stable.

On 5 May 2003at 08:40:17 PT users reported that using the ebaY toolbar, was yielding 404errors. At 13:53:44 PT sellers were not able to list due to the 'next' button not appearing on the description input page. At 19:05:31 PT users continued to report pop-ups interfering with their site usage.

On 6 May 2003 at 13:06:01 PT changes to the My ebaY bidding and watching pages were severely criticized by buyers. At 19:56:41 PT buyers complained that with the removal of the the tick/cross mark from the "Items I am Bidding On" in My ebaY, users who are color blind would no longer be able to use the feature, as they could not distinguish if they were winning or losing.

On 7 May 2003 at 06:16:57 PT sellers reported that Mister Lister collections were not appearing on the site 16 hours after submission. At 07:13:57 PT Web TV users posted that they were not able to view the proposed auction listing page. This appears to be a universal problem for WebTV users, and will prevent them from using ebaY if the changes are implemented as presented. At 07:35:40 PT users previewing the proposed ebaY auction listing page noticed there was no space for the high bidders name. Support could not answer if this was a new 'feature' or an error. At 08:38:32 PT users who had not signed the PayPal user agreement continued to report receiving daily messages from PayPal. This despite PayPal's claim that they are sending messages weekly not daily. At 09:21:07 PT sellers reported that Mister Lister collections were still not showing on the site after 19 hours. At 15:49:50 PT sellers reported their images were not uploading to ebaY. At 17:23:11 PT users reported site loads were slow, and images were intermittently missing from auction listing pages. This second download took longer than the initial one. It also triggered firewall warnings for scumware/spyware. Users should question exactly what it is ebaY is doing with all these downloads, and what is being accessed/placed on your computer by using TL. At 10:57:25 PT sellers reported more TL problems. After doing the downloads attempts to list the first item category resulted in a message that read "please select a leaf category". At 13:45:53 PT users continued to report not being able to delete items from My ebaY pages. At 17:27:52 PT the TL complaints continued as TL would not open after the updates. On 11 May 2003 at 04:49:47 PT ebaY's help link was down. At 07:51:07 PT users continued to complain about the inability to delete items from their My ebaY pages. This has been broken since the last ebaY My ebaY code changes with no indication by ebaY if when or if it will be fixed. At 10:25:45 PT a user who has 28.8 dialup and pays per minute for internet use (because that is the only option available where he is located) complained about the endless updates required to use Turbo Lister. At 14:21:49 PT a user reported problems with the ebaY spyware/scumware toolbar, probably because it was blocked by their security firewalls. At 16:57:31 PT users reported they could not fix their gallery images. They could get to the last page, but could not complete the process. At 18:45:12 PT a seller reported that TL was locking up their computer. TL would download then freeze the computer with TL continuing to run in the background.

On 18 May 2003 at 09:43:08 PT WebTV users reported they could not access ebaY to search or bid. At 11:58:03 PT users reported that auctions had disappeared and ebaY search was not working properly. At 18:28:57 PT more users reported the toolbar link on the My ebaY pages was not working because the code was wrong on it, with the link showing a double http://. On 18:53:27 PT buyers reported the ebaY bidding and watching pages were not refreshing.
