eBay has launched a lawsuit against ReverseAuction for SPAM. In TAGs
opinion the largest spamming incident in the OAI came from eBay itself,
aimed at eBay users, it is hard to believe they could actually go blame
another company for doing what eBay felt perfectly comfortable doing.
In addition, they appear to have completely revamped the privacy policy,
and not given their users the requisite 30 day revue and comment period
as set out in the User Agreement Contract.

And though they have promised this page would be fixed, after four
months the preference selection page is still out of order

eBay is selling more advertising space on the listing pages. Adding
banner links to the top of the pages, in addition to those on the
bottom. When eBay revamped the site design, we theorized that the
eventual goal was to make room for more advertising space. We see that
our theory was accurate. When this theory was put to eBay personnel,
the response was that eBay would NEVER place ads on individual auction
pages. So far they are sticking to that commitment. QUOTE As in the
past, eBay will not
display ads onto individual auction pages (the View Item pages). And we
will continue to evaluate our participation in and monitor the success
of this advertising program. ENDQUOTE

They say they are doing this advertising for altruistic reasons,
QUOTE We believe that this new arrangement will bring more people
to eBay-- bringing more unique items to eBay to help you find what you
are shopping for and bringing more bidders to help to make you more
successful when selling your items. ENDQUOTE an interesting take for
the company that needed "just a dollar" more from its users doing
reserve auctions.

The low of 2.345 mil was on 28 Dec. Currently approx 3.55 million
