eBays' own Meg has a long year end message to the community, and
one of TAGs writers has written a wicked parody of it on AuctionWatch.
As with most satire, there is quite a bit of uncomfortable truth in it!

There are more announcements about the two YTK unregular scheduled
outages on 31Dec and 1 Jan.

Angelfire Communications, an Internet Service Provider (ISP),
is now on the Mail Abuse Prevention System’s (MAPS) Realtime
Blackhole List(RBL). ISPs are added to this list when the
Mail Abuse Prevention System, a non-profit organization,
determines that the ISP is involved in sending SPAM.

Some of eBay’s service providers block network traffic from
ISPs that are on the MAPS RBL. So eBay members who use Angelfire’s email
services may not be able to email any addresses with “-@ebay.com,”
including eBay Customer Support. Also, eBay may not be able to email
members with Angelfire email addys. eBay recommends Angelfire users get
another email address for eBay and do an email addy change.
http://pages.ebay.com/services/myebay/change-registration.html
(one of TAGs favorites is http://www.stupid.com who could
resist an address at stupid .com?)

Since eBay’s Gallery can't accept photos hosted on Angelfire’s
photo-hosting services, they recommend you, use an alternate
photo host. Change the Gallery image URL at:
http://cgi3.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?DisplayGalleryImagePage
This will not affect the photos you link to from your auction
pages, as a block only works on incoming stuff, not outlinked
stuff such as photos.

eBay is attempting to contact Angelfire to resolve this issue.
If you use Angelfire’s services, you can help by alerting
Angelfire about its placement on the MAPS RBL. For more
info about the MAPS, go to : www.mail-abuse.org

Amazon Auction If you haven't looked at it lately, review the amazon
bill of rights. It is a good way to get a feel for the Amazon Corporate
line - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/subst/misc/policy/bill_o_rights

We heard from the Stuart Little folks about our question about Operation
Turn-key. It is a fulfillment company for the movie industry. So they
are the folks that warehouse, pack and ship items.

AuctionWatch has once again revamped their chat site. One of the
unfortunate changes is to their logo, which we felt was an excellent
one, but don't like the new one at all! We are also getting concerned
about the fact that no matter how many times we submit requests to the
contrary, AW keeps spamming us with their newsletter, 4 copies every
week!!! We have followed the directions to unsubscribe, emailed again
and again, yet every week, there are the 4 copies! Posted a message
on the AW site tonight and got an immediate response from MarkD.
He promised to take care of it ASAP! http://www.auctionwatch.com/

OAUA If you have not yet read it, it is well worth taking the time to
review the results, analysis and suggestion generated from the OAUAs
first member survey. This is a well written, and well analyzed report,
and demonstrates the professionalism and competence of this
organization. If you still have not joined the OAUA, here is one more
reason to do so now!
