EBAY PROBLEMS AND ISSUES
***********************************************************
At the end of January, ebaY raised their fees. This fee increase is not justified, as the site problems continue unabated, with broken search engines, back doors wide open to counterfeiters and other scammers, server pool outages, items not indexing in a timely manner, and the list goes on and on.

ebaY categorically denies there is an open back door, despite all proof to the contrary.

ebaY's shill bidder protection policy is firmly in place.  ebaY now requires users to be signed in to view bidders on listings under $200, and has completely hidden user IDs bidding on items $200 or over.  ebaY is now allowing and even encouraging shill bidding on the core ebaY sites, something they have long allowed on ebaY Live.  ebaY has given shill bidders the seal of approval and protection through ebaY's policy of hiding bidder IDs.  ebaY says that they have both programs and shill hunting employees to crack down on shilling, but as usual, there is no evidence of anything but an ever increasing number of shillers.  Sellers have even been discussing the ubiquitous shilling on ebaY with the main stream media.  Given ebaY's new program of trying to increase profitability through higher selling prices on items sold on their site, what easier way to increase those prices than by making shill bidding "ebaY legal".  ebaY claims that this policy of hiding bidder IDs is to prevent second chance offer scams, but since the scammers appear to have full access to ebaY's account controls, they can see all the required information needed to scam users anyway.

ebaY is decreasing some of the listing fees and increasing the final value fees on the ebaY UK and IE sites, and also increasing fees on ebaY Motors UK, effective 1 March.

In a move that does not bode well for the US site, ebaY will no longer refund the reserve listing fees on ebaY UK and IE, if an item sells.  Sellers will be charged the reserve listing fee of 2% of the reserve price over 50 GBP, with a maximum reserve fee of 100 GBP.
