ebaY US is holding a 20 cent listing day on Wednesday 25 October 2006
between 00:00:01 PT (12:00 AM plus one second on Wed 25 OCT 2006 and
ending that same day, 25 OCT 2006 at 23:59:59 PT(11:59 PM plus 59
seconds).

The listing fee for all auction-style and fixed price listings is 20
cents on the U.S.
site (www.ebay.com). This includes listings created before 25 OCT 2006
but that are scheduled to start on 25 OCT 2006.

ebaY will still charge all other fees including final value fees,
listing upgrade fees, such as
Buy It Now, featured plus, subtitle, highlight, bold, gallery, gift
services, scheduled
listings, gallery featured, homepage featured, reserve fees, ebaY
Picture Services, duration
fees, etc.

ebaY is excluding ebaY Motors vehicles and non-vehicles, International,
Live Auction, Professional Services, Ad Format, Real Estate and Store
Inventory listings, from the 20 cent promotion. Additionally business
and industrial categories: tractors & farm machinery (91952), heavy
equipment (25249), concession trailers, carts (67145), imaging and
aesthetics equipment (92035), forklifts and other lifts (97185),
manufacturing equipment (92080), metalworking equipment (92082) and
commercial printing presses (26247). and store inventory listings. The
promotional rate does not apply to listings with a start date prior to
25 OCT 2006 - including those listings revised during the promotional
period. The promotional rate also does not apply to listings created on
25 OCT 2006 and scheduled to start after the promotion ends.

List auction style and fixed price items through the Sell Your Item
Form, ebaY Seller Tools, and most third-party tools.

In order to use a fixed price listing with a quantity of one, you must
either have 10 or
more feedback or be ID verified. If you have a PayPal account you need
to have 5 or more feedback and accept PayPal as a payment method in the
listing.

EBAY MOTORS HIJACKED AND NO LONGER SAFE TO USE

The hackers and scammers have figured out how to get through ebaY's bad
coding and subvert the site. Up until now, if you logged on to the
ebaY site through your own link, did a search and clicked on an item,
the worst that might happen is that you picked up a virus someone
managed to plant in a listing. For the first time, even though you are
logged into the legitimate ebaY site and do a legitimate ebaY search,
and click on what should be a legitimate ebaY listing, when you do a
search on ebaY Motors and click on a listing, you might be redirected to
a scammers site where they can steal your money. The buyer thinks they
are making a safe deal, protected by ebaY's buyer protection plan, but
in actuality they are no longer on ebaY, but have been redirected to the
scammers site. As far as TAG knows, this is only happening on ebaY
Motors, so far.

It appears that the method being used is a redirect via a Shockwave
Flash script bounced through photobucket.com. You can protect yourself
from this by disabling javascript in your browser for the ebaY site, and
by disabling Flash. In Internet Explorer, you need to disable Flash
Globally. Go to Tools, then Manage Add-Ons, Enable and Disable Add-ons
and disable Shockwave Flash Object. In Firefox , you should have it set
for NoScript extension, you need to click on the "S" icon at the lower
left of your Firefox browser
Go to Options, click on it, it will bring up a set of tabs, click on the
far right tab. Check the box for forbid Macromedia Shockwave and forbid
Java on untrusted sites and make sure ebaY is on your list of untrusted
sites in.
