EBAY UK 10 PENCE PROMOTION ON 26 AUG 2004 FOR AUCTION,
DUTCH AUCTION, AUCTION WITH BUY IT NOW,
AND FIXED PRICE BUY IT NOW LISTING FORMATS

On Thursday 26 Aug 04, ebaY will hold a one day special promotion on
ebaY UK, where all Auction-style, Dutch (multiple items),
auction-with-Buy It Now (BIN) and Fixed Price Buy It Now (BIN) listing
formats will cost 10 pence to list in up to two of the included
categories (at a cost of 10 p per category). This applies to all
listings in Pounds Sterling (GBP) on ebay.co.uk started between 00:00:01
BST and 23:59:59 BST on Thursday 26 Aug 04.

Excluded are Shops inventory format items, ebaY items listed in
Properties and certain automotive categories (Cars, Classic Cars,
Motorcycles and Other Vehicles). The promotional rate does not apply to
listings with a start date before 26 Aug - including those listings
revised during the promotional period. The promotional rate also does
not apply to listings created on 26 Aug and scheduled to start after the
promotion ends. ebaY will charge all optional listing feature fees
including: Buy It Now (when used in conjunction with an auction
listing), Featured Plus!, Highlight, Bold, Home Page Featured, Gallery
Featured, Gift Services, Reserve listing fee, Listing Designer, Picture
Services, Slide Show, Supersize Picture, and extended duration
surcharges.

Sellers are supposed to get an immediate refund, so at the time of the
listing they should only be charged 10 pence.

Don't forget the 5 hour + time difference from the US. US sellers will
find that as long as they make the listings available to the US, most,
if not all, of their sales will come from the US in US dollars. Sellers
must be willing to ship to the UK and accept payment in GBP if
necessary, in order to participate in this promotion.

ebaY Germany is holding a promotion in conjunction with PayPal, if you
offer PayPal as a payment option, listings will cost 10 cents.

TAG hears that the most common payment method in Germany is a direct
bank transfer, so PayPal does not offer an advantage in speed and ease
of transaction. Look for more of these promotions, as ebaY attempts to
change the way buyers pay for items.
