ebaY is holding a Free Listing Day on listings with a starting
price from 1pence to 99 pence on Wednesday 10 Sep 2003 on
ebay.co.uk. This FLD includes auction and fixed price
(single/multiple) listings in British Pounds Sterling. All other
fees (final value fees, optional reserve price fees and feature
fees etc.) will still apply. Autos and Real Estate are excluded
from this promotion.

Only basic listing fees will be free. Adding Buy It Now to Auction
Listings will still incur a charge. All other fees (final value fees,

ebaY is holding a two day penny gallery special on the U.S. site
(www.ebay.com) from Tuesday 9 Sep 03 between 00:00:01 PT
(12:00 AM plus one second) and 23:59:59 PT Wednesday 10
Sep 03 (11:59 PM plus 59 seconds). The gallery fee for regular
auction style listings, Fixed Price listings, ebaY Motors non
vehicles listings, and Real Estate listings less than or equal to
30 days will cost 1 cent on the U.S. site instead of the normal 25
cents. This includes listings created before 9 Sep and
scheduled to start during the promotional period. ebaY will still
charge all other fees (Insertion Fees, Final Value Fees, all other
optional listing upgrade fees). If you choose to List in 2
categories and select the gallery option, the gallery fee will cost 2
cents plus double the insertion fees.

Excluded from the promotion are listings in ebaY Motors for
vehicles, Live Auction, International, Professional Services and
Stores Inventory listings are excluded from. The promotional rate
does not apply to listings with a start date before 9 Sep. The
promotional rate also does not apply to listings created between
9 and 10 Sep, but scheduled to start after 10 Sep.

TAG feels that gallery is a waste of money and has seen no
trustworthy data to prove that gallery is worth even the one cent
cost on this promotion. Gallery works only intermittently and is a
very unreliable feature. Sellers are also warned that when they
have to relist items, the gallery will automatically be added to the
relist and they will be charged for it, so they must make sure they
remove the gallery feature on relist.

Thu 11 Sep will be eligible for a gallery image for 1 cent.   There
do not seem to be any restrictions on the AU site for this
