We decided not to do a TAGnotes for Sat, and an abbreviated one
for today, as things seem very quiet around the auction industry,
after last weeks very hectic online auction week.
We strongly recommend that you opt for email message NOT digest
for your subscription option. Messages get sent immediately,
digests get sent and posted to the site 24+ hours later.

eBay US – was down from approx 10:00PT to 13:45PT, and all auctions
ending from 11:30PT to 13:34PT were extended 24 hours even though
not required by the eBay extension policy.

Mon, 1 Nov at 14:00 PT, and Thur, 4 Nov at 09:00 PT

As of Friday, November 12, weekly scheduled maintenance will be
changed The Auction Guild Notes for Sunday 31 Oct 1999
to 01:00 to 05:00 PT on Friday mornings. New hot backup
implementation is scheduled for early Nov.

Golds – has extended the list a thon until 14 Nov. The lister who
lists auction number 200,000 and 225,000 will get a $100. Golds
member account credit. They have a new saved auction/bulk
auction utility that they would like users to test. If interested email
supp-@g... with bulkloader as the subject .
The Home Page is down as of 16:17 ET, but after removing some
of the statistics from the page, it is back up.
Though they feel their current system will handle the seasonal surge
through the christmas holidays, they are testing new servers, and will
let their users know when they will be ready to bring online. There is
also a print media advertising campaign in the works, with updates on
status to follow. Finally, they have extended FREE basic listings
though November.
