eBay US – After ignoring requests for clarification on 28 Oct, and then
prevaricating part of the morning on the 29th, at 08:25:34 PT eBay
finally posted the AB to reflect the fact that there would be a feedback
forum at 11AM PT, on the discuss new features board (as reported by
TAGnotes yesterday) More forums on DNF scheduled for Mon, 1 Nov at
14:00 PT, and Thur, 4 Nov at 09:00 PT
http://pages.ebay.com/community/suggestion/feedbackreview.html There is
a long post about Feedback, and they want users to make suggestions,
and comments and send to feedbac-@e...

As of Friday, November 12, weekly scheduled maintenance will be changed
to 01:00 to 05:00 PT on Friday mornings. New hot backup implementation
is scheduled for early Nov.

Ebay sent a form letter in response to TAGs notification to them of the
ebayassociates scam, that basically said - go look at the announcement
board for info. They received a sizzling EXCUSE ME remail, and after a
quick flurry of clarification emails, acknowledged and thanked TAG for
the notice (through gritted teeth we think). We asked for a thanks and
link to TAGnotes be posted on the announcement board, but phrases like
snowballs chance in… come to mind. Remember anyone who signed up and
used their eBay user id and password, change your password- something
we recommend be done periodically anyway.

Ebay has implemented New Categories.

An Auction Watch thread addresses what seems to be a new scam, whereby
an eBay User harvests the customer list email addresses from the
feedback left URL of a high feedback seller. They then send emails to
the entire customer list, pretending to be the seller (by changing their
to and from address on the messages to a real or fake email address that
has the sellers name in the address) and give them links to sign up for
several of the pyramid scheme “get paid to use the internet” companies.
The only way to prevent this problem, would to make your feedback
private. This might become a necessity to protect users from this
scam. You can always turn it back on if someone wants to view it, and
then turn it off again. Another item to add to the description block.
Since eBay is planning feedback changes now, we recommend they have the
ID Card block available to all with the raw numbers, and when a users
clicks on the View feedback comments left for, or view feedback comments
left by options, the Profile owner gets a notification and User ID of
requested. http://www.ebay.com.au/ http://www.ebay.com/canada/
