on the ebaY Canada site and the ebaY.ca Motors site. In addition to

to' box on the listing form.

On 8 Aug users reported problems with wildcard searches. Mae-@ebay.com
posted at 14:18 PT that ebaY was aware of the problems many were
experiencing with search, and that they were working on it. Though this
problem had been occurring intermittently for several days, and occurred
continually throughout the day on the 8th, ebaY never posted about this
in the SAB. At 14:59:57 PT users noted that cgi 5 was intermittently
down.

On 9 Aug at 06:30:44 PT users noted that their daily status emails from
ebaY were arriving in German. At 15:24:12 PT ebaY posted that their pic
services were once again down from 13:50 PT until 14:50 PT. Since
images are a critical function, TAG always recommends requesting refunds
for auctions ending during image outages. At 15:29:15 PT ebaY posted
that they would issue credits to sellers for the image outages on Tues 7
Aug from 12:45 PT until 20:45 PT. ebaY will credit certain fees for
listings that used ebaY picture services and ended during, or within one
hour of the end of the outage. ebaY will automatically credit insertion
fees and ebaY pic services fees.

Though ebaY's current outage policy does not cover such situations, they
will evaluate a revision of their outage policy and post it to the site
in the near future. ebaY requests that sellers do not email Customer
Support for these credits. They will be automatically applied to your
ebaY account, and should be reflected on accounts within ten (10)
business days. TAG recommends you check your accounts for accuracy.

At 15:54:07 PT ebaY posted that their discussion boards were once again
down. ebaY has had chronic problems and several emergency maintenance
periods, since they switched over to the liveworld boards. Though the
liveworld boards are an improvement over the remarq boards, they are
still not quite up to snuff. At 16:49:37 PT ebaY noted that the boards
were down between 15:40 PT and 16:26 PT while Liveworld performed
emergency maintenance to correct the problems.

10 Aug at 04:44:44 users reported problems with the cgi server pools.
On transitioning from cgi5 to cgi, after submitting a new item, and
going to the view item page, users received the error message "This
function is currently unavailable" This was also happening with cgi 6
revise an item. These problems continued to be reported until 12:23:42
PT. At 09:56:16 PT ebaY posted that the Live Auctions site was not
displaying catalogs. Go to
http://cgi.liveauctions.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=593752819#DESC.

Buyers can access the "view live" and "bid now" buttons from there. At
11:08:25 P ebaY posted that the catalogs were down from 08:30 PT to
10:35 PT.   At 11:44:52 PT the discussion boards were once again down.
At 2:12:37 PT they updated the SAB to reflect that the discussion boards
were down 11:30 PT and 12:00 PT while Liveworld performed emergency
maintenance to correct problems with the boards.

11 Aug 01 at 11:45:56 PT users reported relist down through 12:02:34.
At 14:20:56 PT users reported search intermittently down.

TO REQUEST REFUNDS from ebaY go to
http://www.auctionguild.com/generic.html?pid=33
Don’t take no for an answer; keep requesting until you get them.

ebaY personal offer is available on the ebaY core site. The reserve
price option is currently available only on the ebaY Motors site.
http://pages.ebay.com//help/sellerguide/faq-personaloffer.html

ebaY users have been complaining for the past four days about the
placement and size of the PERSONAL OFFER Banner Ad appearing on the My
ebaY Selling Page. This banner can distort the My ebaY page causing
download problems and format problems. Email input to sugg-@ebay.com

ebaY has changed the categories. To provide input or feedback go to

have also been expanded to include the Brass, Keyboard, String, and
Woodwind categories and new outbreaks.

Goods, and has new subcategories. Skaters will also find new categories

BidBay fights back. ebaY has filed suit, but BidBay is not ready to
give in yet.

The endless problems with ebaY picture services continue. Decline the
ActiveX control if asked and choose to opt to not use ebaY picture
services. Bypass the process altogether by going to
http://cgi5.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ShowPhotoOption&page=167
This takes you to a listing page that skips over the ebaY image hosting.
Another route you can try is
http://cgi5.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ListItemForSaleShow
And another subscriber provided alternative is to simply ignore the java
program/ActiveX
request and leave the window open while listing. You should be able to
list items though the applet is neither accepted nor denied. For those
who cannot use the listing page without the picture-services option.
Once your listing is completed, deny the java program/ActiveX and close
that window.
