We are working on a new computer system, and it will take some adjusting
before we have the bugs worked out, so please excuse formatting errors
in the next few issues.

We have also had several reports that users trying to access the TAG
website are getting error messages. Our service provider has suggested
that this might be caused by a corrupted cookie on subscribers
computers. If clearing your cookie files and temporary internet files
does not solve the access problems, please email us and send the details
on what kind of system and internet service you are using to access the
site.
We apologize for these problems, and will continue to work on them.

On 22 Jul 01 at 13:27:01 PT users reported continued problems with
unasked for Billpoint logos showing on their auctions. TAG also
continues to get reports that sellers are receiving Billpoint payments,
even though they did not offer Billpoint as a payment option. At
17:37:23 PT users posted reports that search was down. At 21:21:36 PT
ebaY posted a problem with Mediaplex stopped users from logging on to
ebaY using the AOL keyword ‘search ebaY’. ebaY said the problem lasted
from approx 12:30 PT until 20:55 PT.

At 00:55:27 PT on 23 Jul ebaY posted that the Account Status, the
Account Tab in My ebaY, and Place or Update Credit Card on File were
from 00:10 PT to 00:30 PT.   Users reported that ebaY’s view item
function was intermittently down this morning at 0410 PT. At 04:16:44
PT users reported error messages while trying to access the site, and
search down. At 06:24:27 PT problems continued, with users reporting
cgi errors showing up. At 08:50:03 PT users continued to report that
view items was down At 13:08:25 PT My ebaY

Users continue to report that they are being charged for store items
listed using Mister Lister. A power seller on ebaY suggested this
solution. Turn this ebaY glitch into an advantage. Run 30 day
buy-it-now auctions for the price of 10 days by listing all your items
as 30 day store items instead of auctions, using Mister Lister.
Approximately half will come up as 30 day auctions, then just revise the
auction and add a buy-it-now price. Since ebaY won't fix it after 17
days, sellers might as well use it to their advantage.

TO REQUEST REFUNDS from ebaY go to
http://www.auctionguild.com/generic.html?pid=33
Don't take no for an answer; keep requesting until you get them..

Having problems with flashing ads when you use your back button? The
solution can be found at.

ebaY has once again violated their User Agreement, and put a new rule
effect, without providing users the requisite 30 day notice. Effective
immediately ebaY announced on 23 Jul at12:19:18 PT, that users may no
longer use their email address or URL as their user ID or to change
their ID to an email address or URL. ebaY again uses the false claim
that they are doing this "to reduce spam" and "protect their members"
while also stating the truth that they are trying "to help reduce trade
outside of eBay. Users who already have an email address or URL as
their User ID will be allowed to keep it. Your User ID may contain
letters, numbers and the symbols -
**Letters a-z, A-Z, **Numbers 0-9, **Asterisks *, **Dollar signs $,
**Exclamation point !, **Hyphens -, **Parentheses (left and right) ( ),
**Periods ., **Underscore _
You may not use
**A Web site address (for example, www.xzy.com), **The "@" sign,
**The letter "e" followed by numbers. This is to prevent confusion,
since ebaY assigns each user an account number beginning with an "e"
followed by numbers (e.g. e12345), **The "< >" symbols, **Consecutive
underscores "__", **An ID that begins or ends with an underscore "_",
dash "-", period or dot ".", **The word "ebaY", **Obscenities, profanity
or hateful language, **Spaces or tabs.

ebaY also said, "Remember that ebaY reserves the right to modify, alter
or suspend any User ID at any time (at our sole discretion and without
notice) for any reason whatsoever. Please note also that members who
already have an email address or URL as their User ID will be allowed to
keep it."

For users having problems editing their About Me page, try using a
Netscape browser rather than Internet Explorer to access and edit the
page.

The endless problems with ebaY picture services continue. Decline the
ActiveX control if asked and choose to opt to not use ebaY picture
services. Bypass the process altogether by going to
http://cgi5.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ShowPhotoOption&page=167 This
takes you to a listing page that skips over the ebaY image hosting
Another route you can try is
http://cgi5.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ListItemForSaleShow

ebaY is holding a live sale of Jewelry, Timepieces and Decorative Arts
on ebaY live auctions on 26 Jul. At 02:30 PT, an auction house partner
will sell jewelry and timepieces. At 13:00 PT, another partner will
present a collection of Oriental and European rugs and carpets. You can
preview and register for these and other upcoming live auction events at
anytime on http://www.ebayliveauctions.com/

ebaY is now prohibiting the listing of Travel and Vacation vouchers and
certificates commencing 1 Aug 2001. ebaY feels these items cause
confusion for buyers and also violate ebaY’s fee avoidance policies.
Listings that violate this policy include those that offer a certificate
or voucher (or the like) for future travel or travel related
experiences, where the buyer is required to make an additional purchase
in the future to use or otherwise take advantage of the certificate or
voucher.

ebaY has said they are taking down their wanted board. At least one
Wanted Board member is trying to supply a substitute. Go to

Free or low fee image hosting - Usually the best place to get free space
is to use your own ISP as most ISPs provide free space for their users.
You can use an upload utility such as Ipswitch Ws_FTP or Cute FTP - or
