An ebaY user posted on 6 Apr at 06:58:00 PT that some S.E.Kansas
Road Runner users have had no e-mail service for over 4 days. If
you are doing a transaction with a person subscribed to this service
please be aware they might not be able to contact you.
ebaY continues to divert buyers away from listings on ebaY with
expanded links to Half.com categories on ebaY's Books, Movies,
Music, and Consumer Electronics pages.
ebaY has added a link to what they are calling their Shipping
Education Center. Though primarily an advertisement for UPS, there
is some general shipping information. Subjects touched on are -
Choosing the right box and packing materials; selecting a carrier;
Shipping insurance; Dealing with loss and damages; and Shipping
internationally. This is by no means in depth or comprehensive,
and only mentions the most conventional of purchased and service
provided materials.

There is an article on a security flaw in the ebaY site in relationship
to network users. The gist of it is that though both ebaY and Yahoo
offer a secure log-on page, but to access other services or features on
their sites, you have to log in again and there is no option to log in
securely the second time around. The end result is that, if users are
accessing these services from a shared network segment, their user IDs
and passwords are transmitted across the LAN in clear text. For the

BidVille has added a gallery option to their site. You can now view
auctions by Gallery Photo Only along with normal options. The
gallery fee is 25 cents a pic up to two pics, and if unsold, the auction
will auto-relist in the gallery three times at no extra charge. The
search engine still leaves much to be desired as it will only search
less than 3,000 items in any one search, and only searches the title and
not the description.

PayPal has some chargeback protections for sellers. In order to be
eligible the seller needs to have a verified U.S. Business or Premier
Account; ship to the buyer's confirmed address, the one provided by
PayPal, that matches the billing address of the credit card; provide
proof of shipment which can be tracked online; accept a single
payment from one PayPal account for a purchase; ship to a U.S.
buyer at a U.S. address. there is no protection from charge backs on
