On 1 March at 22:58:19 PT ebaY reported that the Billpoint tools
to create an invoice and user profile were down. They also
reported that other areas might be slow. At 23:29:30 PT ebaY
reported Billpoint was working as of 23:05. ebaY performed
regularly scheduled maintenance from 01:00 to 03:00 PT on 2 March.
On 2 Mar at 16:36:02 PT ebaY reported that the free hidden Honesty
counters are not available on the Sell Your Item form. ebaY hopes
to have a fix in place in the next two weeks.

On 4 Mar at 10:11:14 PT ebaY posted that there were problems with
users listing items receiving confirmation emails from ebaY after
listing items. But that ebaY had fixed the problem as of the posting.
No other email functions were affected.

*PINK Quote of the Day* On a thread on the ebaY search board,
about ongoing search problems Claire@ebaY on Fri, 2 Mar at
20:15:29 -0800 said. "Description Search updates to bids and changes
have been turned back on! We will announce this on the
Announcements Board as soon as all items on the site are indexed in
the same way. Here is the current status based on the information
available: Items listed or modified after Feb 28th will be updated in
Description Search when changes (title edits, description revisions,
bids, etc) are made to them. Changes made on or before Feb. 28th are
still not indexed. So, for example, an item listed on Feb 26th which
received bids on the first day, will still show -0- bids in Description
Search. If it receives an additional bid after Feb 28th, it will be
updated to reflect only that bid placed after the 28th. My
understanding is that if a title was edited before the 28th, the changes
will not be indexed. If that title is edited again, after the 28th, then
the new title will be indexed. So, the only parts updated will be those
parts of the listing that have changed, and only the changes made after
the 28th will then appear updated in Description Search. The other
thing this change has done has been to increase the length of time it
takes for a new Description Search Update to post. Engineering continues
to work on this to enable faster updates while maintaining full
functional capability. They anticipate increasingly better update times
soon. As you can see, this may make for some very confusing situations
over the next week, until the last 10 day item listed on the 28th has
ended and all items are able to index properly again. Please keep this
in mind if you notice seeming irregularities. We will keep an eye on
things, but please do post if you see anything unexplained by the
information above. I know this sounds like a lot of disclaimers, but I
hope you will be just as excited as we are about the prospect of
reviewing a Description Search list and once again seeing lovely bids
and higher-than-opening prices"

There is a reminder on the AB about the previously announced
changes to the restrictions for Dutch Auction listings.
The new requirements for sellers to use the Dutch Auction format
1. Have a credit card on file
2. Have a Feedback Rating of 50 or above, and
3. Be a registered user on eBay for at least 60 days.
OR
1. Be ID Verified.
These requirements apply to both new and current sellers when listing
on the U.S and Canada sites in the Dutch Auction format. International
users selling on these two sites will need to meet new requirements 1
through 3 since ID verify is currently not available to international
users. The new requirements will be effective in the next few days.

On 1 Mar ebaY acknowledged that the implementation of their email
system caused major email providers to reject the ebaY email as SPAM.
ebaY has now changed the system in the hope that Spam filter
software recognizes the email as one sent by their users and will
therefore not block the email.

ebaY has entered into a relationship with Eppraisals.com.
