On 19 Feb users reported another day of problems on ebaY. Starting
at 06:35:41 PT, users reported intermittent and reoccurring problems
with search page returns being garbled, search down, site slowness,
auction pages not opening, completed search not working and other
access problems. These problems appeared to clear up to some degree
at approx 11:20:19 PT. At 17:57:50 PT the problems returned with the
site slow, a short lived crash at 18:00:03 PT, and then intermittent
problems with cgi6 down, Mister Lister down, list and relist down,
and search down or slow. The site mostly recovered at approx
19:30:59 PT with search and My ebaY slow and intermittently not
accessible until approx 20:42:38 PT.

On 20 Feb ebaY posted at 00:54:13 PT that completed search was
down. It was restored at 01:08:46 PT.

*PINK Quote if the Day* When asked why the outages from the last
couple of days had NOT been posted on the AB?
Katy@ebaY Feb-19-01
"As far as I know, the last outage was posted, but I have been off the
last two days so you might want to write into Support. I know there were
some problems accessing specific pages intermittently, but
they always went through for me with a second try." AND "I did
not see evidence of an outage - which would keep all users out - but
I did have to try more than once on some pages at times. This is
annoying, but by the time something like that can be found and
announced it is usually gone."
