ebaY posted on 16 Jan 01 at 16:24:15 PT that the feedback forum and
My ebaY was down. At 16:45:44 they stated that the problem lasted
from16:07 to 16:27 but was currently fixed. At 18:09:14 PT problems
with the feedback forum reoccurred, and at 18:38:47 PT they took them
both down for approximately 30 minutes, beginning at 18:40 PT for
emergency maintenance. At 19:47:58 ebaY posted that the feedback
forum and portions of My ebaY will be down from 00:01 PT to 02:00 PT
on Wednesday morning for emergency maintenance. Until then, the feedback
forum will be intermittently slow.

ebaY is increasing listing fees from 5 cents to $1.30 in the US and
on Canadian auctions listed in US dollars. Effective Wednesday,
31 January 2001, ebaY is increasing insertion fees and adding a
charge to the 10-day listing option. Final value fees, other feature
fees and insertion fees for vehicles, eBay Premier and Real Estate
remain unchanged.

These are the old and new price schedules for insertion fees:
Opening                 Current             New
Value or                Insertion           Insertion
Reserve                 Fee                 Fee
$0.01 -   $9.99        $0.25               $0.30
$10.00 - $24.99        $0.50               $0.55
$25.00 - $49.99        $1.00               $1.10
$50.00 - $199.99        $2.00               $2.20
$200 and up             $2.00               $3.30

ebaY will now charge a ten-cent ($0.10) fee for the 10-day listing
option. The three-day, five-day and seven-day auctions will not
have an additional fee. For more info go to

Effective Wednesday, 31 January 2001, ebay.ca is also getting
increases for all items listed in US dollars and the addition of a
charge to the 10-day listing option for all items listed in US dollars.
Items listed in Canadian dollars will not be affected by the fee
changes. Final Value fees, other feature fees and insertion fees for
vehicles and real estate remain unchanged. For more info go to

TAG thinks this increase is not justified. ebaY continues to have
persistent ongoing problems that they have not fixed, and persistence
and ongoing reliability problems.   Until ALL past problems are
resolved we do not feel ebaY can justify or is entitled to this, or any
increase. We are not currently getting what we pay for, and they now
want us to pay more for it. For the complete TAG editorial on this
subject go to http://www.auctionguild.com and click on ebaY Increases
