On 11 Jan at 12:03:06 PT Users reported Script errors appearing on
all pages. After some checking a customer service rep posted on the
ebaY DNF board that the problem was with AOL and/or Compuserv.
ebaY knew about it and were trying to correct it. A workaround was
to access ebaY through another ebaY portal. No notice of this was
posted on the AB. At 19:11:55 PT the script errors were back and
cookies were not holding. These problems continued intermittently
for some users until the site was taken down at 01:00 PT. ebaY
conducted their planned extended maintenance outage and posted
on 12 Jan at 06:56:23 PT that the site was back up as of 06:50 PT.
The AOL script errors continued to be reported on 12 Jan. At
07:15:04 PT on 12 Jan the feedback system went down. At
07:32:56 PT users reported search problems on ebaY Germany, and
at 07:53:33 PT Bad Gateway messages were reported by users. There
were also reported problems with search and gallery pics. Most
problems appear to have been resolved by 08:22, but complaints
started again at 11:50:03 PT. Problems continued intermittently
until 17:18:31. They were particularly persistent on the AOL
ebaY portal.

On 11Jan Gia-@ebay.com stated on the ebaY DNF board that
refunds for the outage on 3 Jan 01, should be issued before the
next billing invoice. He recommended if the refunds did not
show up
that users should contact support via the online help system

Or you can get ebaY contact information from
http://www.auctionguild.com and click on ebaY Contact Info
from left hand tool bar.
ebaY announced that the Buy It Now feature will continue to be
free through the first quarter 2001. Buy It Now for Mister Lister
became available on 29 Dec. ebaY plans to add Buy It Now for
Dutch auctions and a Buy It Now search tool.
ebaY has started a developers page, for third party programmers.
Developers can apply for certification. The page with all info is at
http://developer.ebay.com/
ebaY reported in November that this protocol will be offered with
an enrollment fee and a monthly licensing fee for companies
wishing to use it. Prices have not been published yet.
