ebaY has been sending emails to their customers informing them
that ebaY has reset their preferences to receive ebaY SPAM.
In an Excite news article today ebaY spokesperson Kevin Pursglove
said, "the problem occurred with six million users who registered
between April and November of last year." Users who registered
during those months had some options set to 'OFF' so they would
not receive SPAM emails and offers, so ebaY reset them to 'ON',
and then informed SOME users that the changes had been made.
Unfortunately, investigation by TAG has shown that the settings
on accounts were changed, even though the accounts were registered
in 1999 and before. TAG highly recommends that ALL registrants
check your Opt Out settings no matter when you registered, as the
likelihood is that they HAVE been changed.

Beware of the Billpoint Logo as it is showing up in auctions, even
when the seller did NOT opt for Billpoint. When you review your
auction Billpoint shows up as NO, but when the listing goes
through the logo is on the auction. You will need to manually
check your auctions for the logo, and revise the auction in order
to remove it. ebaY has been alerted to this problem.

Yahoo listings fees go into effect on 10 Jan. Sellers may use
Featured Auctions Credits to pay their listing fees. The default
sort is now back to ending time, and there is a non-paying bidder
policy in place so sellers can get refunds for the listing fees on
auctions that did not complete.

TAG has had an email in to customer support for several days
trying to get clarification on merchant auction listings when a
seller pays for a Yahoo Store, so far without any result. We will
continue to pursue the information.

If you want to contact Yahoo about the fees or any other issue,
you can try - Timothy Koogle, Chairman and CEO Yahoo! Inc.
