On 7 Jan ebaY at 05:54:06 PT ebaY posted that they had an outage
that made items listed in Books, Music and Movies unavailable from
3:22 PT to 5:46 PT. As a consequence of these problems, ebaY has
extended all auctions in Books, Movies and Music which were
scheduled to end on Sun 7 Jan between 03:22 PT and 06:30 PT by
24 hours.   Users reported problems with listing, starting at approx
10:59:48 PT and lasting all day. Users continue to report problems
with listings displaying a billpoint icon, even though they did not
opt for and don't accept billpoint.

TAG strongly recommends that anyone who feels their auctions were
negatively impacted by any of these problems apply for credit.
Request listing, special feature and Final Value Fees. Go to
the form at
http://cgi3.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?

%20I%20receive%20credit%20for%20insertion%20fees%3F%20
Send -
* The item number(s) of the ended auction(s)
* The specific fee(s) charged for them
* Your seller's email address or User ID
* The phrase, GIVE CREDIT in the Subject line
This can also be accessed from

TAG can't emphasize enough that sellers should not take NO for an
answer. If you get a refund denial, keep requesting and
re-requesting refunds until you get them. Some sellers are also
challenging ebaY charges to their credit card, based on services
not rendered. TAG recommends you use that as a last resort, if at all.
When you feel you did not receive the service you paid for, and ebaY
refuses to refund your money, you might consider having your lawyer
write to ebaY about a failure to provide service. You can also file
complaints with the FTC and Better Business Bureau.

ebaY Great Collections has been revamped into what ebaY is now
calling ebaY Premier, at www.ebaypremier.com. Geoff Iddison, is
the general manager of this ebaY offshoot. ebaY plans to add an art
database, which will provide historical data of millions of artworks.
They have a Premier Guarantee program in which all sellers will
guarantee the authenticity of their items. In the event that there is
an unresolved dispute about authenticity between the ebaY
Premier buyer and seller, ebaY will reimburse the purchase price
to the buyer up to $50,000. ebaY Premier also has live bidding on
items being sold on the sales floor of auction houses. Guild.com
and Latinarte.com. will list items for sale on ebaY Premier in
the auction format, and both will have featured areas on ebaY
Premier that will link to a co-branded version of their web sites.
ebaY Premier will have a buyer's premium of 10 percent.

Yahoo Auctions held a chat with their Yahoo Auctions Team about
the listing fees going onto effect 10 Jan. This can be found at
http://auctions.yahoo.com/phtml/auc/us/promo/chat_transcript_1-04.html
http://auctions.yahoo.com/phtml/auc/us/promo/chat_transcript_1-05.html
In TAG's view this was a strictly one way communication with Yahoo
concentrating on its party line, and not actually listening to anything
it's users had to say. Any auctions listed prior to 10 Jan including
the auto relists, will not be charged a listing fee.

Dibit.Com Online store site $10.00 per month for unlimited listings.
These are same folks who own AutoTrader.Com, the ebaY Motors
affiliate. They prohibit the listing of pornographic materials, liquor,
and firearms of any kind. When a buyer selects an item from a store, an
e-mail is sent to the seller with the buyer's information (name,
address, email etc.). At that time, the seller negotiates all terms and
conditions with the buyer.
