ebaY reported on 21 Nov at 11:53:15 that the problem that started
on 19 Nov with missing item descriptions for completed auctions
from 1 - 27 Oct was fixed. Item descriptions for all items from
1-27Oct and most, but not all, items from 28-31Oct are showing up.
There are continuing to work on this problem so that the remaining
missing descriptions from 28-31 Oct will also reappear. ebaY ran
well on the 21st, barring the list of restricted features with My ebaY,
completed search and revised listings not updating ever, and the
reoccurring problems with ebaYs pic hosting not working and/or
having cookie problems, payment information disappearing on
relist, title search and description search not updating in a timely
manner with description search often behind by 36 or more hours,
bids not updating on search lists, and new listing not showing up on
sellers search or My ebaY requiring a reset by ebaY of the sellers
item list.

ebaY posted at 13:35:46 PT on 22 Nov that the bug in the Buy it
Now (BIN) feature that prevents the opening bid price be the same
as the Buy it Now price had reoccurred. This bug causes an error
message to show up in the listing when the two prices are the same
prohibiting buyers from using the BIN feature. They fixed the bug last
week, but it has shown up again. At 16:03:32 PT ebaY announced
that they had fixed the problem and All BIN listings should be
working properly.

At 15:23:11 PT on 22 Nov ebaY posted that they were going to
do a series some un-regular scheduled maintenance. They were
going to disable account status from 00:01 PT to 01:00 PT on 23 Nov.
They were also disabling the Sports Categories from 00:01 PT to
00:15 PT on 23 Nov. On 23 Nov at 07:51:35 PT, users reported
that the Sports category was intermittently unavailable. This
problem was reported for several hours.

Regularly scheduled maintenance took place on Fri morning
24 Nov, between 01:00 PT and 03:00 PT.

TAG strongly recommends that anyone who feels their auctions were
negatively impacted by any of these problems apply for credit. Request
listing, special feature and Final Value Fees. Go to the form at
Send -
* The item number(s) of the ended auction(s)
* The specific fee(s) charged for them
* Your seller's email address or User ID
* The phrase, GIVE CREDIT in the Subject line
This can also be accessed from
TAG can't emphasize enough that sellers should not take NO for an
answer. If you get a refund denial, keep requesting and
re-requesting refunds until you get them. Some sellers are also
challenging ebaY charges to their credit card, based on services
not rendered. TAG recommends you use that as a last resort, if at all.
We have reports that ebaY is getting more and more recalcitrant
about refunds, BUT persistence has netted full refunds.

ebaY is planning to launch the ebaY Platform Interface, a way to
standardize information access on ebaY so licensed third parties can
create new applications for ebaY and maintain current applications when
ebaY changes the site.

ebaY now allows only members involved in a transaction to view
email addresses in lists. The changes include alteration of the View
Item, Bid History and Seller Search pages and you may no longer
display email address when viewing User ID preference. Registered
users may continue to request email addresses of other members

ebaY is promoting what they call the 30+ priceless gifts. These
gifts are items from ebaY's commercial partners, not regular ebaY
sellers. Some are charity auctions.

ebaY is selling a Visa Gift Card. The card is embossed
with the recipient's name and it can be used to pay for Visa
purchases on eBay or anywhere Visa is accepted.   ebaY will
send the card directly to you or to your recipient, along with your
