ebaY is still having problems with completed auction descriptions.
They are missing from completed auctions preventing relisting,
auction completion by sellers and buyers, and all other functions that
need completed auction information to resolve. This was still down
as of this printing. At 15:03:50 PT users reported intermittent
problems with cgi1, 2, 3 and 6 being slow or down. The problems were
very infrequent, but did occur on and off throughout the evening.
TAG strongly recommends that anyone who feels their auctions were
negatively impacted by these outages apply for credit. Request listing,
special feature and Final Value Fees. Go to the form at
http://cgi3.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?

Send -
* The item number(s) of the ended auction(s)
* The specific fee(s) charged for them
* Your seller's email address or User ID
* The phrase, GIVE CREDIT in the Subject line

TAG can't emphasize enough that sellers should not take NO for an
answer. If you get a refund denial, keep requesting and
re-requesting refunds until you get them. Some sellers are also
challenging ebaY charges to their credit card, based on services
not rendered. TAG recommends you use that as a last resort, if at all.
We have reports that ebaY is getting more and more recalcitrant
about refunds, BUT persistence has netted full refunds.
ebaY posted on the AB that there was another glitch in Buy It Now (BIN).
Buyers who want to use the Buy it Now feature are required to
register a credit card or purchase a $5. verification. This latest BIN
problem is that after the buyer registers his or her credit card, ebaY’s
system does not send that person through the BIN confirmation
and purchase process to actually close the BIN transaction.
Buyers may incorrectly believe that they have bought the item, they
have not. Until ebaY fixes this glitch, buyers who use to BIN
and
register their credit card for the first time will need to return to the
View Item page to actually purchase the item by clicking on the BIN
button again. Once buyers click on the Buy It Now button, they can
confirm their purchase and choose a payment method.
At 19:12:53 PT ebaY posted they were adding a new feature, whereby
a re-listed item would now have a link from the closed auction listing.
Sellers, now buyers can more easily find your re-listed items. This link
will automatically appear on the closed item page. You will also have
the option to add the link even if the item sold the first time if you
have another for sale.
A few articles of possible interest to ebaY users -
ebaY Inc. shares fell 21 percent after an analyst lowered her stock
rating on concern that the biggest Internet auction company's
business is slowing down. ebaY fell $8.94 to $34.50 on trading of
10.5 million, more than double the three-month daily average. The
company may have trouble reaching its goal of about $3 billion
in annual revenue in 2005 because it's main collectibles business is
slowing and plans for new services will push costs higher, wrote
Lehman Brothers Inc. analyst Holly Becker in a report. Chief
Executive Margaret Whitman and other executives also recently
sold stock, raising ''red flags,'' Becker said.

eBay on Monday launched an initiative to bring its proprietary
technology to Web sites and programmers, aiming to become the
de facto operations system for online auctions. Through the new
plan, known as the eBay application programming interface and
developers program, companies would gain use of eBay's auction
marketplace technology.

ebaY partner AutoTrader.com Inc., which runs a Web site linking buyers
and sellers of used cars, trucks and vans, filed to withdraw its $65
million initial public offering, citing unfavorable market conditions.
