17 Nov 09:50:34 PT ebaY posted that the item description information
for completed items that ended between 28 and 31 Oct was unavailable.
At 11:07:03 PT cgi 5 (relisting) went down on Australia site until
approx 11:25 PT. All the My ebaY venues were limited to show
only 300 items, including the US, Canada, UK, Australia, France,
Germany & Japan.   At 14:47:27 PT ebaY announced the bug in
Buy It Now listings was fixed so that the minimum bid price and
the Buy It Now price could be the same. For more info on Buy It
Now go to http://pages.ebay.com/services/buyandsell/buyitnow.html

On 18 Nov 05:52:58 ebaY posted that completed items were
unavailable from 05:19 PT until 05:49 PT.   At 09:12:25 Account
information generated between 00:30 PT and 01:10 PT was
inaccessible for some eBay sellers.   At 13:20:25 PT ebaY
announced they were taking the site down from 00:01 PT to 00:30
PT on Sat 18 Nov for unregularly scheduled maintenance. They
felt they needed to back out some system changes made
during Friday morning's regularly scheduled maintenance that did
not had the effect desired by ebaY.

On 19 Nov 00:56:31PT ebaY posted the gallery feature had been
intermittently down, but was working again. At 10:12:13 PT users
posted that the feedback system was down. At 10:54:10 PT ebay
UK cgi5 was down, and at 11:47:05 PT cgi 3 went down. At
14:03:45 PT completed auction descriptions disappeared preventing
relisting of these items. At 12:52:15 PT ebaY posted that they had
restored the account information generated between 00:30 PT and
01:10 PT on Sat 18 Nov. At 12:54:17PT ebaY posted that they again
were taking down the completed items that ended between 29 and 31
Oct, the completed items descriptions for all items in October will not
be available from 14:00 PT on 19 Nov until 20 Nov. At 18:19:06 PT
users experienced connection resets when trying to bid. For the most
part ebaY ran well, and the problems that occurred were intermittent
and short-lived.

TAG strongly recommends that anyone who feels their auctions were
negatively impacted by these outages apply for credit. Request listing,
special feature and Final Value Fees. Go to the form at
http://cgi3.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?

Send -
* The item number(s) of the ended auction(s)
* The specific fee(s) charged for them
* Your seller's email address or User ID
* The phrase, GIVE CREDIT in the Subject line

PLEASE - IF YOU ARE DENIED REFUNDS LET US KNOW
TAG can't emphasize enough that sellers should not take NO for an
answer. If you get a refund denial, keep requesting and
re-requesting refunds until you get them. Some sellers are also
challenging ebaY charges to their credit card, based on services
not rendered. TAG recommends you use that as a last resort, if at all.
We have reports that ebaY is getting more and more recalcitrant
about refunds, BUT persistence has netted full refunds.

ebaY periodically holds what they call workshops in the threaded
boards. You can find a workshops schedule and links to past ones

There is a post on the AB about ebaY and half.com's
links. ebaY provides tailored search boxes on each
ebaY search results page. Half.com provides a link for users
to search for related items on ebaY from search
and on all the product pages.

Auctiva reached an agreement with ebaY over the Showcase issue.
ebaY has agreed to clarify and explain ebaY's indirect linking policies,
to not cancel any auctions merely because they link to an Auctiva
Showcase, explain issues of compliance to sellers rather than summarily
canceling auctions. Auctiva has added an option to Auctiva Showcase,
where sellers can choose to conceal non-ebaY listings in the Showcase
when a buyer comes from the ebaY site. If you select this option, your
non-eBay items will only appear after buyers click a second time to
reveal them. To enable this feature, go to
http://www.auctiva.com/myaccount/showcaseedit.asp

To replace ebaY's limited My ebaY page Auctiva has added a
YourBay function. YourBay recreates most of the functionality of
the My ebaY Seller tab. This service is free to all Auctiva Showcase
users. http://www.auctiva.com
