ebaY continues to have relatively infrequent sporadic outages and
problems. On 21 Sep 13:48:05 PT Mister Lister went down and
was back up at 18:21:37 PT. At 17:03:59 PT cgi3 errors started
showing up. The problems continued through the day but very
sporadically until the site was taken down for maintenance. At
05:18 on 22Sep categories were showing up in a confused state.
For example the Jewelry category was showing the wrong listings
for Featured Category and Standard Listings. Searches in the
Rare Books and Antiques section on Books were showing no
books. Asian Antiques was showing listings of baseball cards,
and phone cards. At 09:36:14 PT cgi3 problems were reported
on the OAI boards. The problems included slow loads, slow
access on the boards, and when trying to process a NPB dead
beat users received a message that - The specified procedure
could not be found. At 13:06:21 PT users got messages showing-
Network error Connection reset by peer in transfer loop while
retrieving http:///cgi3.ebay.com. At 15:17:57 PT users got Internal
Error has occurred messages and at 18:57:08 PDT cgi resets. These were
all transitory glitches.

The Jewelry, Gemstones, Timepieces categories have changed and
will be in effect in October. There are separate categories for Fine
and Costume Jewelry and the final changes for the Jewelry
categories can be found at
http://pages.ebay.com/help/basics/cat_jewelry.html

go into effect in October 2000. Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs)
and Games, with their current sub-category structures, will move
from Computers to Photo & Electronics. Games will be broken out
by type: Action & Adventure, Arcade, Racing, Role Playing,
Simulation, Sports, and Strategy. Digital Cameras now have brand
categories for Agfa, Nikon, Polaroid, Casio, and Epson. Wireless
phones divided by their technology platform, Cellular, GSM, and
PCS.   Televisions are divided by type, Portable, Plasma, and Digital.
