eBay is now offering picture services on all of their country sites.
Users in Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan and the UK
can try the test phase of pic services on their respective country
sites in two categories, Antiques & Art and Pottery & Glass. eBay
hopes to have pic services available in all categories and through
Mister Lister on all country sites later this year.

The test phase of the program is free for up to 2 pictures per
listing. You can add up to 4 more pictures for a fee or display
your pictures in a slide show format for a fee. Prices are on the
Sell Your Item form for each different country site. You may
continue to use your current pic hosting service, or any pic hosting
service you like. Pic hosting may disrupt third party software, so
to be absolutely sure, you should check that your program works when
they launch it.

TAG does not recommend using eBay pic services because you are
required to download an ActiveX program to utilize it. No other
pic host requires this most invasive of tracking devices to use
their services, and until eBay uses an alternative method to bring
you these services, we give pic services a thumbs down.

eBay's picture services, will be down on Tues 22Aug from 00:00
(midnight) to 00:30 PT for system maintenance work. This
downtime will not affect the viewing of items currently listed.
Sellers will not be able to submit images during the scheduled
downtime.

eBay is planning messages drawing attention to the Computers and
Musical Instruments categories. This is the first step in a new
promotional campaign, eBay on eBay. They are going to feature
different categories and areas every two weeks.

eBay is making changes to billing. The account status page
allows users to view current or past invoices on-line. The two
new fields added to the top of the account status detail page
now shows a member's past due status and total amount past
due. If an account is current the past due balance will be zero.
There will now be pagination of the detail section. The account
detail section will now paginate after every 200 entries
Payment Coupon - Members billed in US dollars will now have their
invoice number printed on the payment coupon instead of their eBay
account number. When making payment by check or money order
include a payment coupon and write your invoice number on
your check or money order. To print a payment coupon go to:
http://cgi3.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?PayCouponShow

My eBay - Two new links have been added under the account tab
within My eBay. The new links are to view your account status,
or show your last invoice. The account status link takes a members
directly to the Account status login page and my last invoice will
display a member's most recent eBay invoice.

Approx 4.67 million current listing

Amazon Auctions - The Amazon site has instituted its new tabbed
navigation system. This system is based on your past interests and
purchases, and can be customized to a degree to suit your tastes. It
also has a rating system of past purchases to add more criteria, so
the site can predict more accurate recommendations for future
purchases. The front page has a directory of all the sections of the
site, so you can add favorites (but not tabs) for the portions you are
interested in. The Tabs offered appear to be based on past purchases.
The section that appears to get the shortest shrift with the new
system is Z-Shops, which can not even be added to your
favorites list, so can be accessed only by clicking on the left
hand side toolbar. Z-Shops do not even show up as a tab if you
have purchased from Z-Shops in the past. For the most part,
unless someone has used auctions in the past, they will not show
up in a prominent way. Z-Shops does not show up unless it is
actively sought.

Amazon has also added its own charge card through the Next card
system. They reward points for dollars spent, and you receive gift
certificates based on the points you earn.
