eBay went down at 1235 PT on 18Aug and appears to have come
back up at 12:47PT. This was not reported on the AB, but was
noted by users on the OAI boards. At 13:02:33 eBay posted that
they had a problem with intermittent site access with view item,
list an item and bid on an item from 12:33 PT to 12:42 PT due
to a hardware failure.

eBay reported on 16 Aug at 23:49:44 PT that description search is
current as of 17:38 PT on August 15th. They are trying to update the
indexing cycles for description search and will update it in
increments throughout the night. They hoped description search would
be current by Thursday morning, 17 Aug. TAG recommends
that you track when your auctions appear in description search and
if you feel your auctions were negatively impacted by these
problems request refunds from the form at

eBay was down for regularly scheduled maintenance between
01:00 PT and 05:00 PT. Since search has been running approx
24 to 30 hours behind the additional possible search delays might
cause an additional 12 to 15 hours delay on Friday and Saturday.

they were aware of and were working on the problem. The auctions
continued to appear in the listings but not in the seller account
area. This problems was still being reported as unresolved as of this

Auction Diner is now offering online auctions under their new site
DinerAuctions.Com. This auction site is a cooperative effort with
eDeal.Com, and mirrors all the auctions listed on eDeal.
DinerAuction receives FVFs on items sold via their site and also
on items listed and sold on their site, and even on items listed on
the DA site but sold on eDeal. There are no listing fees. The
site currently has 24426 listings, and all the eDeal tools, options
support and features are available on the Diner Auction site. TAG
finds the context of having many portals opening to the same site an
intriguing one, as different sites have different loyal users, all
who can pool their auctions for critical mass and benefit their
portal site. Auction Diner is now offering free email and pic
hosting. http://www.dinerauction.com http://www.auctiondiner.com

allows Sellers to get their fees refunded if the sale is not
completed. Verified Sellers can limit their auctions to verified
buyers only, but this does not insure the sale will complete. The
site has both live support in a chat forum and a staff that takes
user input seriously. They provide free email, and a software
auction management/listing program. They have a background in analog
auctions have now merged with CD Micro a CD online auction house.
