eBay- Another un-regular scheduled maintenance took place from
00:00 PDT to 04:00 PDT with 24 hour auction extensions for all
auctions ending between 00:00 PDT and 05:00 PDT.
Ebay has put in place a limit on the amount of text that will
be searchable in item descriptions. They are limiting search to
the first 256 characters of the description (one of these lines is
approximately 60 characters wide-for comparison). They recommend
you put the keywords you want to show up in searches in the beginning
of the description. TAGnotes will pass on the notice as to when this
restriction is lifted.
***********PLEASE NOTE************
Ebay said they would do this in advance of the FREE LISTING EVENT -to
quote-
"This means that for a few days prior to and up to 10 days following the
Free Listing Day, Search will be limited to the first 256 characters of
an item description." So consider this message an EARLY WARNING. A
message will go out on the free listing day ASAP!!!
