eBay's home page went down at 22:54PT and was reported back up
at 23:13PT on 27 Jul. It went down again at 00:53PT on 28 Jul and
was not available again until maintenance was completed at 03:53PT
on 28Jul. Access to the home page was available through AOL at
http://www.ebay.aol.com.

eBay appears to have gone down at around 10:45PT on 29 Jul.
Search was available, but it was not possible to open item pages
or bid on items. These problems appear to have cleared up by
11:45PT. It was not reported at all on the eBay AB, but was
noted by users on the OAI chat boards. If you feel your auctions
were negatively impacted by the problems, request a refund by

Yahoo Auctions is now offering its own payment system, very
much like the PayPal system, called PayDirect. This free US
only service lets you send or receive money online from an
account you fund with a credit card or bank account.
The accounts are through CIBC National Bank, but are NOT
FDIC insured. You are limited to funding your account with no
more than $200.00 until you verify that you can receive U.S. mail at
the billing address for your credit or ATM check card. On the day you
register for Yahoo! PayDirect, they send a letter to your billing
address that includes a code that you can enter by clicking the
Mailing address verification link on the View Limits page. Once
you have confirmed your mailing address with this code, your
funding limit will be raised to the lesser of $1,000.00 over any
30 day period or your credit card limit. Your total PayDirect
account balance limit and single transaction withdrawal limit is
$10,000. Total withdrawals over the prior 180 days are also limited
to $10,000. Fees may be introduced in the future. If you link an
ATM/debit card with a Visa or MasterCard logo to your
PayDirect account, you will be able to directly access the bank
account linked to that card. PayDirect supports ACH
(Automated Clearing House) or electronic check transfers which
allow you to transfer funds to any US bank account. If you wish
to move money from your bank account to your PayDirect
account using ACH, you will need to complete an ACH consent
form and submit it along with a voided check for a checking
account, or a preprinted deposit slip for a savings account.
Withdrawals from PayDirect made using an ATM/debit
card or ACH may take up to seven business days to appear in your
bank account due to the processing time and policies of the card
networks, transaction processors, and banks involved in the

Honesty.Com's had problems with their counter database and pic
hosting.   These services were not functioning as of 12:52 AM CST
on 30 Jul. There have been short intermittent outages over the last
5 days, all receiving immediate attention by Honesty support and
back in service within an hour or two each time.
