eBay went down at 13:28:36 PT and reported being back up at
15:41PT on 25 Jul. They were having problems with the eBay
system, including View Item and the Feedback Forum. Though
the ability to bid was affected for over two hours, there were no
auction extensions. If you feel your auctions were negatively
impacted by these problems email bill-@e... to request
a refund.

eBay is changing the Gemstones, Men's and Timepieces
Categories. These changes will go into effect during the second
week of Aug. View the changes from links on the Jewelry,
Gemstones or Collectibles Category Index Pages or go to
http://pages.ebay.com/help/basics/cat_jewelry.html
They are also planning changes to the Jewelry Categories.
Costume Jewelry and Fine Jewelry will get their own categories.

There is a very long quarterly message from Meg on the AB. She
starts the message by saying QUOTE As most of you know, eBay's
mission is to help people and small businesses trade practically
anything on earth. ENDQUOTE and from TAG's point of view, goes
on to talk about nothing but all the big businesses eBay
is doing deals with, most to the detriment of the people and small
businesses that make up the "community". eBay claims 15 million
registered users, and a more than 99 percent uptime. TAG would be
very interested in knowing how those figures are calculated since
anecdote makes the first hard to believe, and evidence makes the
second seriously inaccurate. Looking strictly at eBays 24/7 claim
and their regularly scheduled weekly outage, they are up 97.62%,
and that is not counting a single unregularly scheduled maintenance
or an outage.

Approx 4.51 million current listing
