eBay held their regularly scheduled maintenance on Fri 31 Mar
between 01:00 PT and 05:00 PT .

eBay has launched a new project to redesign their Home Page.
They are looking for user feedback during the next 10 days,
to help in their decision, through a customer survey.

eBay is adding a billpoint section to the listing page directly
below the payment methods section. When you do a listing, you
can choose the option of including billpoint as a payment method.
If you select it, your buyers can pay for their item using a credit
card. There will be no other changes to the listing form at this
time. You have to register with billpoint before you can list an
item with the billpoint payment option. Billpoint will be available
to all US eBay sellers by mid-April. View the revised listing form at

There is a flaw in eBays new bidding tutorial which can only be used
with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 + Web browser, not Netscape
Navigator. The tutorial is also NOT available for Macintosh, AOL
browsers, or Web TV.

Amazon Auctions One Click system, will have No Final Value Fees
through Dec 2000. It does not matter if the buyer chooses to use
One click or not, or what method the buyer uses to pay, the Seller
will NOT be charged a final value fee. The oneclick charges
for each item sold are 2.5% plus 25 cents, AND increases the
insurance coverage on the item from $250. to $1,000, these fees
only apply if the buyer uses oneclick.

Andale has not responded to the email we sent them regarding the
premature ending of their $5.00 promotion, though a response in
24 hours was promised. We are sure they are being inundated with
complaints. They still plan on starting to charge fees with all
auctions launched from their site from 1 April on. You will need
to provide a verified credit card to continue to use their services.

Andal€ é will charge a fee of 2.95% of the winning bid price on
successfully closed transactions that occur through the Andal€ és
service. Successful non-Dutch Auction items will be individually
charged 2.95%, with a minimum of $0.10 per auction. Successful
Dutch Auction items will be charged 2.95% on the total price
realized for items sold, with no minimum charge. All auctions for
cars, trucks, RVs, collector cars, and real estate will be charged
a maximum of $30.00 per item. Shipping, insurance, and other
surcharges are not calculated in the winning bid price. All
transaction charges are rounded up to the nearest penny.
