eBay has launched an additional search utility as a business
exchange, for small businesses to buy and sell business related
items. The Business Exchange pulls together business related
categories (like computers, video editing equipment and industrial
equipment) from different areas of eBay and puts them in one
location. List business-related items as normal in the relevant
business categories. eBay is not revealing the exact search terms
for the various business searches but you can get a feel for them
by clicking into the short cuts. Business items show up in two
places, the regular categories and search results and the Business
Exchange. http://www.ebay.com/business_exchange

Anyone placing a bid of $5,000 or more is now required to either
place a credit card on file with eBay or be verified through another
credit card alternative, such as ID Verify. This will be put in place
in the next few days.

eBay has temporarily removed the opt out ability for Customer Support
Surveys on the notification preferences page. They are working on a
system upgrade to process the Customer Support Survey notification
preferences. Until this upgrade is in place, you will make the
request from the email that you receive from Customer Support. If
you had already indicated a preference to not participate in the
Customer Support Survey, your preference has been recorded and no
further action is necessary. All other preferences are in proper
working order and will not be affected by this upgrade to the
Customer Support Survey option.

NCAA tournament basketball tickets, especially the Final Four in
Indianapolis, are on sale. Many of the games are held in locations
that limits or prevents the resale of tickets at prices above the
face value printed on the ticket. eBay has provided information on
the laws at http://pages.ebay.com/help/community/png-ncaa.html

Yahoo Auctions – Still no word on a Yahoo eBay merger or sale.
The latest word is that negotiations broke down, but speculation
is still running strong that some kind of deal will happen. The
general take is that it would cost Yahoo 45 Mil to buy eBay,
and that is about half of what Yahoo is worth. Analysts also
seem to feel that Yahoo needs eBay more than eBay needs Yahoo.
