eBay has a reminder on the announcement board that unless you
want to receive all the eBay generated commercial mailings,
you MUST go to the preferences page and reset your preferences.
When eBay redid their preference page they set all users to their
default setting, with you agreeing to get all the email and offers.
It can take up to 14 days for your changes to take affect. As a
result of the default settings, you will get:
Listing confirmations, bid notices, outbid notices, users agreement
changes, privacy policy changes, special promotions offers and events,
eBay product surveys, eBay customer support surveys, telemarketing
and direct mail. http://pages.ebay.com/services/myebay/optin-login.html
Smart search is live as of today 16 Mar.
There are some glitches in the newly implemented feedback system.
There is a new interface that allows multiple comments to be submitted
at once. You can find a list of all transactions for which you have
not left feedback in the past 60 days by going to:
http://cgi2.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?LeaveFeedbackShow
Included on this list are auctions where the reserve was not met, or
where suspended users are included, even though they don't qualify
for transactional feedback. eBay is working on fixing this, and expect
to have it fixed in approximately one week. The old form for leaving
feedback is available by using the link "Click here to leave feedback
for an item older than 60 days" on the bottom of the new feedback
page. eBay is currently experiencing issues with the feedback forum
that are resulting in slowness when accessing the feedback forum,
including viewing feedback and leaving comments.
eBay is changing SafeHarbor in mid March, as they feel updating
SafeHarbor is long overdue. They are moving the SafeHarbor
information to the Help area. Information will be arranged in a new
Help section called Rules & Safety, which replaces the current
Community Standards. Rules and safety was chosen because many
new users don't know what SafeHarbor means. Users will be able to
find links to the Rules and Safety area from the bottom of every page,
now named Rules & Safety (SafeHarbor). To preview the new
Rules & Safety pages go to:
http://pages.ebay.com/community/news/new-safeharbor.html
Comments or suggestions are welcome, email sugg-@e...
with "Rules & Safety" in the subject heading.
At approximately 19:00 PT eBay experienced problems with listing
new items, using My eBay, viewing Feedback and leaving Feedback
comments. These problems were resolved at approx 20:00 PT.
The new advertising policy is in effect NOW. Insure your auctions
don't get cancelled because of an advertising rule violation.
